My Tree

Spring makes me so happy because everything is green and I don’t feel like hibernating.  It makes me happier to look out the window when I’m eating and see this:

This is our willow tree.  When Craig planted it, I was hesitant because it is a willow tree and they have a tendency to spread.  But so far he’s kept it trimmed back and assures me the roots won’t grow into the walls of our basement.  It is peaceful to look out and see the branches waving in the wind and see all this green.

These are the simple things of life that I appreciate.  Hokey, huh?

  1. NO!! Not hokey at all! I’m totally right there with you…I *need* green in my life, and everything is better when I can see growing things.

And y’know what else? One of the best smells in all the world is when the corn begins to tassel out…that sweet, sweet fragrance of summertime in Illinois. :-) Yeah, it really is the simple things that make life worthwhile.
