Christmas ornaments. They are….well, some of my favorite things to do. Great gifts. Not too much time suckage. Fun. (BTW, I hate how fuzzy this picture is, but that is my problem to figure out) You, dear reader, bask in the craftiness that is this ornament!
I made these from the Better Homes & Gardens 2007 Christmas Ideas magazine. You need to get some 12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper and some green floral wire. Draw 3 circles of varying size on the scrapbook paper with a compass and cut out. Trim the edges in a fun pattern with some special scissors (like that technical term?). Cut 3 pieces of floral wire (the directions say 18″, but I used 12″) and twist a smaller piece of wire a little bit from the top to hold the 3 wires together. Now it’s time to bust out your trusty glue gun. Take your scrapbook circles and hot glue into cones. From smallest to largest, thread each cone onto the wires and hot glue into place. When all three cones are firmly in place, twist the bottom of the wires in 3 circles in opposite directions to form a base to the tree. Do the same with the wire left at the top as an “adornment”. Attach a gold thread hanger and voila! You have one seriously cute ornament. These are great to give away – very cheerful! As my son said, “Mom, they look like they’re dancing!”
